Had my first Yaymaker virtual painting event on Sunday, April 11th at 4pm EDT.

Thoroughly enjoyed my paint night and generosity of our instructor, Melissa. Her pace, explanation of steps, mixing colors plus painting along with us helped a lot. She started by showing us the completed work alongside her blank canvas.

It was a fun night, indeed and engaging. Melissa's calm demeanor and quick wit kept us moving forward without rushing.

I've already registered for five "5" new events. Can't wait!!!

I had the absolute worst instructor ever at Mateus’ Restaurant Bar and Grill on 2/7/20.

She started off by saying that she hadn’t run a class in years and also started a full time job this week so she was trying to get her mind together. That was her opening introduction. I still gave her the benefit of doubt and waited to be guided into how to create the painting advertised online. She also let us know that she didn’t create a sample painting for us because it was super easy and we could just follow along. I’ve been to multiple paint nite classes and this was the first time they were too (busy, distracted, lazy, etc.) to have a sample of what we were making displayed.

At one point she came over to me to see if I needed help and I let her know I was waiting for it to dry. She then smeared my painting with her finger wiping it to the left even though we had been working on vertical strokes the entire time till then. So I asked her kindly not to touch my painting and let her know I was good on my own.

By the end of the night, I looked at her painting and it was nothing like what was advertised online. Mine looked closer to a wooden background and I am not skilled at painting. I just went rogue and started ignoring her instruction.

Very disappointed. If I can see instructor reviews in advance, I will book again. Otherwise, I am not willing to risk it.

As a local artist for Yaymaker, I can attest that, as a team, we all pour our hearts and souls into every event. We offer so many different types of experiences to enjoy; to suit just about every personality. Our joy and satisfaction comes from every guest, who comes to our shows to unwind, maybe have a lil sippy sip, some food and good times, while not being judged. When you love what you do, it’s not a job!

We purchased the groupon for this place. When we scheduled the day, which you can only do online, it was cancelled due to little reservations for 2 consecutive weeks... Then we tried calling them and there was a voicemail saying "the fastest way to get in touch with them was calling a number provided". Well I am still waiting for the reply to my message. Very unpleasant experience when you cannot contact services you paid for.

I have emailed this company twice to request a refund for an event they cancelled last minute. No one has replied my emails yet, and there is no way to connect with them by phone. The options in the answering machine don’t apply to the customer’s needs.

if you want to have great time and for get about everything kick back with some friends, while sipping on some wine, listening to great music and have amazing instructors who will alway answer any question yaymaker events are a must!!!
