I have been to other Petco's but this was my first time here for grooming. I found the staff member (Cynthia) that I worked with indifferent and unenthusiastic. Upon checkout, I mentioned I was a vital care member and she incorrectly applied my rewards and discount (even after multiple requests to re-check).

I paid so I could get the receipt and then had to contact a manager who was amicable while helping me check and actually resolve the problem. I would caution anyone who is a vital care member that you probably got ripped off at some point because they did not correctly apply the 20% discount on my grooming. This should be automatic in my opinion and not up to the cashier to decide on what services they apply it to.

Check your receipts. I won't be back.

I swore we would never go back to a Petco after having numerous horrible experiences at locations like San Marcos and Encinitas. I'm really glad we gave La Costa a try. The staff were friendly and helpful. Tara in grooming really cared about our dog and was very knowledgeable.

Unfinished grooming job. Hair left inside my dogs ear and was told I needed to “have a vet take it out.” 24 hours later I’m at the vet paying for ear infection treatment and having them remove the hair, in which my vet noted “this groomer did not do their job and this is incomplete. A vet is not a barber.”

This was my first time at Petco La Costa and after 4 hours waiting for my dog to be groomed, I will not be returning.

The employee was polite but did not offer me a bag, and when I walked with my hands full, I dropped some things in the parking lot.
The best Petco store is located in San Marcos. They make sure you get excellent customer service.

Deanna at Petco Grooming was the best groomer we’ve met in the area for Truman’s bath and brush out! Her energy was infectious and you could tell he was actually happy to be there. All in it only took a few hours so you know that they’re attentive to your dog and he’s not locked up in a cage for extended time. We plan to take our dogs here every few weeks because they were so cheery and kind to our doodle (who is a character himself). Thank you, Deanna!!

Ask for Chelsea, or Emily when you arrive and you will feel like you have your own personal concierge Pet Person Assistant. One of the best customer experiences I've had and with 2 different reps on the same occasion. They both went the extra mile to make sure I got what I needed and took time to help me with both of the fur babies I was taking care of. Oreo & Ms Brown Brown are very happy weiner dogs now.

I called your company the day of my purchase to praise the young man who not only helped me find the items I needed but took everything out to my car. I told him I was also looking for an item I didn’t see in the store and showed him the empty package. I remember the first time I came to this store several years ago ALBERT treated me as if I were visiting royalty. He found me the best products at the most affordable prices. A few days ago I needed live worms for Mitzvah, my turtle friend of 27 years. The worms I needed weren’t available but ALBERT took the time to look at each type of worm and found the perfect substitute until the worms Mitzvah loved were in stock. So I’ll be back in a few days to see ALBERT and get a live worm feast for my turtle ALBERT I thank you and rest assured Mitzvah is grateful too.
And yesterday Massimo and Lily were so helpful as I switch all my pet needs from Costco to Petco because not only Petco quality products but customer service. Lily was amazing. She now knows all about my pets and their needs. My schnauzer, two African greys, two Norwegian Forest cats and my turtle I mentioned above. Thank you Lily, Massimo and Albert always.
