Great library with so many options and resources. It offers computer access, free WiFi, study room, children's and teens rooms, lots of activities for people of all ages. The staff is always very professional and helpful.

Amazing programs, grab a monthly calendar to join them!! nicest librarians ever, they really find amazing programs to bring to the library and were so thankful! Weekly projects to take home, sometimes fresh fruits and veggies in the fridge. The best community resource by far.

Otranto Library is the best. Mr. Ray and Mrs. Sharon is always welcoming. Bre'Ana helped my husband and I tremendously. She was patient and kind. Thank you all for the work you do, and your way of serving the public is inspiring.

This library is lovely! In addition to regular books, lots of computers for adults, and a large dvd collection, Otranto Rd. library has a food bank, a community room (currently closed) and large areas for children, and teens, separately.

Had to change my 5 star review. ?BEWARE! Overdue books are now referred to a COLLECTIONS AGENCY. Last time I had an overdue book and asked to pay a book fine I was told there were no fines anymore! I thought wow, the library just keeps getting better. So this time I was just reading a book at my leisure. Got a letter from a collections agency!!!! Went to return the book and pay the fine. Their system was down so they couldn’t accept payment. They said don’t worry since the book is returned you can just pay next time you’re in, there won’t be any further action. Got ANOTHER letter from this out of state collections agency. Went back in, they were finally able to take payment. Messing with my credit rating over an overdue book?!! I couldn’t believe it. Have loved this library for years, always gave it 5 stars. They need to post big signs in the library that overdue books are now referred to a collections agency, no more just going in and paying a fine like it used to be! Once many years ago we failed to return a kids book and they let us know it was lost, we could pay for the book or return it. We found it and paid a fine. Not like that any more. Otherwise the library is so awesome, gave 5 stars previously, very sorry about this development. Sadly, prob won’t use the library any more, not worth the risk. But we loved it all the years my son was growing up and it is a beautiful bright library with wonderful staff and great resources. We actually live across the street in Hanahan but had a library card here due to our military status which we really appreciated.

How can you say perfect! This library is my favorite library of all. The staff are accessible, informative, and pleasant. I have never met such a wonderful group of people. Great job!

To whom this may concern:

This evening I visited the Otranto Library Branch located in North Charleston and as usual I began working on one of the computer. For the first half off my time I was able to get work done and focus while working on the computer. After about 20 minutes of work Mr. Ray Turner began conversing loudly on the phone with some one discussing how people name their children odd names and discussing other personal matters. I tried to block his voice out but he was so loud I was unable to.

After I realized that my visit was going to be cut short I addressed Mr. Turner and expressed to him of how much of a disturbance he had been to me. He nonchalantly responded "Thank you for sharing". No explanation of why he was so loud nor an apology.

In the future, I plan on patronizing this location as I always have but I hope Mr. Turner will keep in mind where he is employed there should be little to no talking or noise. The level of professionalism or therefore lack of was jagging.
